Obituary of Tressa Harris

Tressa O. Harris, 64, of Canadensis, passed onto eternal life Friday, October 4, 2013 after a courageous and ferocious battle with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. She was the wife of Kenneth Harris, Sr. for 41 wonderful and well accomplished years. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Lester and Lurline Elvy. As an alumni of New York University with a B.S. degree in Music Education, Tressa committed herself to the love of education and child rearing. While having had the experience of teaching elementary school in the New York City School System, one of her biggest accomplishments included seeing all three of her own children graduate from college with Bachelor's degrees. Additionally, Tressa spent plenty time continuing her own education in several areas and even became certified in Medical Transcription. In addition to her husband, she is survived by several family members including: son, Kenneth Harris, Jr. and daughter, Ayanna T. Harris of Canadensis; daughter, Dara T. Davis,son-in-law, Robert Davis, and granddaughter, Deyva Davis of Teaneck, NJ; sister, Geraldine King of Plattekill, N.Y.; and many other loved ones. There will be a viewing held on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 10 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthews Church, 200 Brodhead Ave, East Stroudsburg, PA. The Reverend Father Joseph Kutch will then lead a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Main St, Moscow, PA.
