Obituary of Paul Garber

Paul M. Garber, 75, of Mount Pocono, died on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. He was the beloved husband of Gladys (Ferris) Garber with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Born in Hanover Township, PA he was the son of the late Paul D. Garber and Sabina (Bockowski) Garber-Bantell. Paul graduated from Hanover Township High School and furthered his education at Temple University School of Pharmacy. He was a Pharmacist from 1962 until his retirement four years ago. He worked for CVS pharmacy and Rea & Derick Pharmacy in Cresco. Paul was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4159 and served as Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator. He was an Ecumenical Minister at St. Mary of the Mount and volunteered at the Loaves and Fishes meals at St. Bernadette's. In addition to his wife Gladys he is survived by his seven children, daughters: Deborah Fidanzato and her husband Michael of Belle Mead, N.J., Lynda Garber of Sumter, S.C., Sharon Grum and her husband Alexander of Bartonsville, PA, Nicole Garber of Odenton, MD, Danielle Dudley and her husband Mark of Reeders, PA; sons: Paul M Garber II and his wife Beth of Sumter, S.C., and Shawn J. Garber of Mount Pocono, PA.; one sister: Joan McNulty of Exeter, PA; grandsons: Jeffrey Deluca, Nicholas and Adam Grum, Joel Fogle, Mike and Brian Fidanzato; granddaughters: Sydney Garber, Jada, Jordyn and Sasha Dudley, Chelsea and Jillian Fidanzato and several nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing from 2 to 5 on Sunday, November 24, at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25 at St. Mary of the Mount, 27 Fairview Ave, Mount Pocono. Entombment will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow, PA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
