Obituary of John Schmidt

John A. Schmidt, 76, of Reeders died on Wednesday, January 15, 2013 at the St. Lukes Hospice House in Bethlehem. He was the loving husband of Susan (Yonker) Schmidt to whom he shared 47 years of marriage. Born in Westfield, N.J., he was the son of the late Frederick and Madelyn (Cain) Schmidt. John was a Veteran of the US Army National Guard. He was a self employed Mechanic who owned and operated Accurate Auto Service in Reeders up until his illness last year. In addition to his wife Susan, he is survived by his sons: Daniel Schmidt and his wife Brooke of Reeders and John C. Schmidt of Easton, his daughter: Lisa Puskas and her husband John of Midlothian, VA, and grandchildren: Ashley Benton and her husband Adam, Nicholas Schmidt and Lindsay Schmidt of Reeders. Pastor Thomas Richards will conduct a funeral service on Saturday, January 18 at 12:00 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 158 Fish Hill Road, Tannersville. The family will receive friends and relatives from 11:00 until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, PO Box 196, Tannersville, PA 18372.
