Obituary of Robert Javaruski

Robert J. Javaruski, 81, of Cresco, died on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County in East Stroudsburg. He was the loving husband of Kathleen (Munley) Javaruski to whom he was married for 60 years. Born in Staten Island, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Brynes) Javaruski. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps he served during the Korean War. Robert retired from the City of New York as a Detective after 20 years of faithful service. He later went on to work for the Pocono Mountain School District as a bus driver for 14 years. He enjoyed what he did and loved all of the kids he transported like they were his own. Robert was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Kathleen, he is survived by his four children: Diana Branen of Staten Island, Linda Yanone and her husband Robert of Staten Island, Daniel Javaruski and his fiance Maria D'Onofrio of Staten Island, Laura Fluegel of Cresco; a sister: Rose Mancino of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren: Kevin Javaruski, Dana Branen, Heather Branen, Matthew Branen and Eric Fluegel. He was preceded in death by three sons: Robert Anthony, Kenneth, and Richard Javaruski; three brothers: Joseph, Thomas and Paul Javaruski; and two sisters: Helen Medefindt and Kathleen Koenig. There will be a viewing on Monday, January 20 from 2-4pm and 7-8:30pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will celebrate a Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, January 21 at 10am at the Church of St. Bernadette, Route 390, Canadensis. Burial will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. Graveside services are private.
