Obituary of George Stack

George F. Stack, Jr., 80, of Paradise Valley, died on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Woodland Terrace at the Oaks in Allentown. He was the loving husband of the late Donna (Sansenbach) Stack. Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late George and Violet (Cross) Stack. During his working career, George owned and operated the Paradise Trout Hatchery, the oldest private trout hatchery in PA. He served on the Board of the US Trout Farmer's Association and was an active board member of the PA Aquaculture Association. George was extremely active at the State and Federal level in the fish industry, always a voice of conservative reason when it came to the Trout Industry. George was a co-founder of Smuggler's Cove Restaurant in Tannersville along with his good friends, Ron Sarajian and Buzz Papillion. He was an avid IndyCar fan and enjoyed traveling all over the country following the races. When he wasn't traveling the country he spent a lot of time in Costa Rica and Florida. In his spare time, George loved to be in the kitchen and took pleasure in creating new recipes. He enjoyed nothing more than a lively discussion and never hesitated sharing his political viewpoint!!! He is survived by his daughter: Beth Martin and her husband Terry of Cresco: grandchildren: Meredith Rettaliata and her husband Aaron of Stroudsburg, Blake Martin and his wife Rita of Mountainhome; and five great-grandchildren: Macy, Lyla, Avery, Tessa and Quinn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna and his baby sister Evelyn Stack. There will be a visitation from 11 to 1 p.m. on Monday, February 24 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Joe Kutch will conduct a blessing service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Barrett Paradise Friendly Library, 6500 Route 191, Cresco, PA 18326.
