Obituary of Marion Roberts

Marion Lafond (Kent) Roberts Marion Lafond (Kent) Roberts, 78, of Tobyhanna, passed away the morning of Feb 19, 2014 at Whitestone Rehabilitation Center in Stroudsburg, PA. She was born on Feb 3, 1936 to Abner and Essie (Hite) Kent in Bethlehem, PA. She had one sibling, younger brother Wilford 'Sonny' Kent. Marion is survived by her mother, Essie Harrell. She was a secretary for a NYC manufacturing firm and the NYS Health Dept. Throughout her life she championed the protection and preservation of Africans and the African Diaspora. In addition to her mother Essie, Marion is survived by her sons Michael Roberts and his wife Jan of Minneapolis, MN and Gabriel Roberts and his wife Tracey of Tobyhanna, PA; daughter Courtna Brown and her husband Calvin of Waldorf, MD; and seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
