Obituary of MaryLee Robinson

MaryLee Doreen Robinson, 68, of Tobyhanna, PA, was called home to the Lord on February 18, 2014. She was the loving wife of the late Pastor Ronald Robinson whom she shared 32 years of marriage. Doreen, as most people called her, was born in Brooklyn New York on December 21, 1945 to Calvin Mickens and Mary Zinemon. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. In May, 1968, she married Ron Robinson of Newburgh, New York. They had one son, Jeffrey, in 1971 and moved from East Orange to Parsippany New Jersey in 1973 where she lived with her son and husband for nearly 30 years. During this time, they served Worldwide Church of God Congregations together in New York and New Jersey for many years. In 1999, Pastor Ron Robinson launched the 24-7 Church in Newark, New Jersey. Her wisdom was sought by church members, friends and family from near and far. After Pastor Ron's death in 2000, Doreen retired to Tobyhanna, PA near her brother Calvin Mickens, his wife Katherine and family. She most recently attended Pocono Community Church. She spent her time visiting her grandchildren, making blankets for hospitalized children, volunteering at the Pocono Mountain Public Library, and participating in the Pocono Country Place Craft Club, Senior Club and Crochet Club. She is survived by her son, Dr. Jeffrey Robinson, and his wife Valerie-Mason-Robinson of Piscataway, New Jersey and three grandchildren, Gabriella, Michael and Zachary; two sisters, Shirley Johnson of Sun City, Arizona and Pastor Gezzele Martin of Tucson, Arizona; two brothers, Calvin Mickens and his wife Katherine Mickens of Tobyhanna and Brian Mickens of Tucson, Arizona; and step-mother Omenza Mickens of Tucson, Arizona; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, February 27 at the Bolock Funeral Home in Cresco, PA. At 1 PM there will be a viewing followed by a service at 3 PM. On Friday, February 28, a Celebration of the Life of Doreen Robinson will take place at the Abundant Life Family Worship Church in New Brunswick, New Jersey beginning at 1 PM.
