Obituary of Robert Miller

Robert R. Miller, Sr., 78, of Tobyhanna, died on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the loving husband of the late Mary Louise (Lynch) Miller, to whom he was married for 47 years before her passing in 2007. As a young man he worked with his father as a contractor building many homes and commercial facilities. He was a member of the Pocono Masonic Lodge 0780 in Cresco and a proud veteran of the United States Army. Robert enjoyed many sports throughout his youth including basketball, but he had a love for Golf and played often, well into his retired years. He is survived by his son, Robert R. Miller, Jr. and his wife Jill of Swiftwater, two grandchildren: Robert R. Miller, III and Olivia Miller of Swiftwater; a brother-in-law, Francis Regan of Stroudsburg and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister Marilyn Butz and her husband Karl and a sister-in-law, Ann Regan. There will be a viewing on Thursday, April 10 from 2-4 and 7-8:30 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. There will be a third viewing on Friday, April 11 from 10-11am at the funeral home with a blessing service immediately following at 11am. Burial will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Robert may be made to Notre Dame Schools, 60 Spangeburg Ave., East Stroudsburg, PA 18301 or Monsignor McHugh School, 212 Pennsylvania 390, Cresco, PA 18326.
