Obituary of Bill O'Boyle

Bill "OB" O'Boyle, 75, of Pocono Summit, died peacefully on April 9, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Eugene and Mary O'Boyle. Loving father and Grampy, he raised five children in the Poconos. He was an active member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Mount Pocono. Bill is survived by his four children: Mary Jo Weston and her husband, Michael of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich; Jeanne Riley and her husband, Phillip of Cresco; Patrick O'Boyle and his wife Teresa of Corpus Christi, Texas: Ed O'Boyle and his fiance, Ms. Billie Carberry of Newark Del; and six grandchildren: Monica Hermes, Rachel Riley, Miles Riley, Brianna O'Boyle, Kasey Weston and Allison O'Boyle. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty four years, Janeann Nealon O'Boyle, his son Timothy O'Boyle and two grandchildren, Timmy and Tami O'Boyle, siblings Donald, Eugene, and Maureen. He was known as a top hotelier who started his career locally and worked as General Manager in several prestigious hotels across the United States. Throughout his career Bill was recognized for his commitment to personal relationships that impacted the careers of many. He was a dedicated community leader with strong commitments to the individuals of the groups and organizations in which he proudly participated and served. Bill truly enjoyed the NY Yankees and NY Giants. However his greatest pleasures in life were spending time with his children and grandchildren, whether on the golf course or while vacationing at the beach. His family was his greatest treasure and they will miss him dearly. There will be a viewing on Monday, April 14 from 2:30 to 7 pm at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will celebrate a Mass of Christian burial at 10 am on Tuesday, April 15 at St. Mary of the Mount Church, 27 Fairview Ave., Mount Pocono. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery, 901 Bryant Street, Stroudsburg.
