Obituary of Lawrence Dalglish
Lawrence Dalglish M.D., 87, died on Sunday, April 20th, 2014.
Born in the Bronx, NY he was the son of the late John and Edna Dalglish.
A veteran of the United States Army, he served during WWII and the Korean Conflict. After leaving the military he started medical school at SUNY, where he received his degree in medicine.
Larry was the town physician of Montclair, NJ for 21 years where he practiced family, emergency department, and occupational medicine. Later on he also became the ringside physician for the Golden Gloves Boxing.
While living in Montclair, he developed many life-long friendships with the police and fire departments. He was a member of SETI and the International Magicians Society.
He is survived by his wife, Paulette (nee' Gelman), two children: Tom Dalglish of London, Kate Gorman of Basking Ridge, NJ; a brother: Robert Marshall of Cresco and two grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, April 24th at 1pm at Mount Hebron Cemetery, Valley Road, Montclair, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in honor of Larry may be made to animalscanttalk.org or to a local animal shelter of ones' choosing.
