Obituary of Richard McLaughlin
Richard F. McLaughlin, 75, of Mountainhome, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.
Born on July 4, 1938, in Freeland, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Heckler) McLaughlin.
After graduating from St. Ann's High School in Freeland, Rich went on to further his education at King's College in Wilkes-Barre. He later served with the U.S. Army Reserves. Rich began his working career in hospitality at the Shawnee Inn. He later became the sales director at Pocono Manor, Buck Hill and Hershey Hotels and eventually began his own business as a meeting planner for local resorts.
He is survived by a son, Richard McLaughlin and his fiancee, Charmaine Wright, of Cresco; dear companion Rochelle Livingston of York; brother Joseph McLaughlin of Freeland; sisters-in-law Dolores McLaughlin of Tobyhanna and Marguerite "H" McLaughlin of Hazleton; friend Patricia McLaughlin of Orlando, Florida; a granddaughter, Megan Wright of Cresco; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John and David McLaughlin.
There will be a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 23, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Rev. Father Paul Fontanella will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, at the church of St. Bernadette, Route 390, Canadensis.
Cremation was entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
