Obituary of Thomas Riley

Thomas J. Riley, 64, of Tobyhanna, died on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Born in Auburn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Thomas and Catherine Eugenia (Derrig) Riley. Thomas was a graduate of Parsippany High School, class of 1968. He attended Miami Dade College. Thomas was a lifelong New York Yankees fan and was scouted by the major leagues after high school. He cherished his family and helping others was his way of life. He is survived by his sisters, Sharon Riley Hahn of Dunmore, Mary Jane Peters of Mount Pocono; nephews, Ryan Riley and his wife, Kim, Joseph Blauner and his wife, Libby, Jonathan Peters; niece, Jennifer Peters Whitaker and her husband Samuel along with their families and several great nieces and nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Riley and a niece, Kelly Blauner. There will be a visitation from 3 to 5 pm on Monday, July 7, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A memorial service will begin at 5 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VFW Post 3448, 119 VFW Drive, Tobyhanna, 18466. Cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
