Obituary of Patricia Mader

D. Patricia Mader, 78, of Cresco, died on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, surrounded by her family at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest. She was the loving wife of Donald C. Mader to whom she had been married for 58 years. Born in Bronx, NY she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Walsh. A member of Most Holy Trinity Parish, she was of the Catholic faith. Patricia and her husband, Donald, were community advocates and spent many years volunteering their time. Her biggest role was being a mother and friend not only to her own children, but too many others. Over the years, Patricia adopted a large group of friends and extended family. In addition to her husband, Donald, she is survived by a daughter: Mimi DeHaven and her husband Randy all of Cresco; four sons: Stephen Mader and his wife Deidra, Brian Mader and his wife Linda, Michael Mader, Bill Mader and his wife Christina; a brother in law: Harold Metzgar of Swiftwater; two sisters: Marilyn Watson and her husband Jim of Lake Ariel, Helen Marie Kearney of Mountainhome; nine grandchildren: Scott, Adam, Hannah, Emily, Morgan Mader, Mandy, Mike, Michelle, Megan DeHaven. Several nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by a sister in law, Gloria Metzgar. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, July 30 from 4-7pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 31 at Keokee Chapel Cemetery, Keokee Chapel Road, Paradise Valley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Patricia, may be made to the Pocono Mountain East Little League, PO Box, 88, Cresco, PA 18326.
