Obituary of Antonietta Giunta

Antonietta Giunta, 92, of Stroudsburg, died Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the former wife of Rosario Giunta. Born in Washington DC, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Frances (Longo) Valenti. Antonietta was as meticulous at work at the Trover Shops in Maryland where she worked for many years, as she was tending her home and her flower gardens. She was a devoted mother to her son John and was very proud of her grandchildren and her first great-grandchild. She deeply loved her family and we know she will be as happy to join her late brother Gino in heaven as she was sad to leave her brother Francis behind. She is survived by her son, John Giunta and his wife, Deborah of Stroudsburg; a brother, Francis Valenti of Owings, MD; four grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Joseph and Gino; and one great-grandchild, John Michael. There will be a viewing from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Richard Czachor will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 14 at Our Lady of Victory in Tannersville. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 15 at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Michigan Ave. N.E. Washington D.C. 20017-1566
