Obituary of Humberto Masdiaz

Humberto Masdiaz, 84, of Tobyhanna, died Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Mountain City Nursing Home in Hazle Township. He was the loving husband of Rosario (Cintra) Masdiaz. Born in Cuba, he was the son of the late Enrique and Julia (Garcia) Masdiaz. In his spare time, Humberto liked spending time outdoors and enjoyed fishing, swimming and traveling. In addition to his wife, Rosario, he is survived by his sons, Julio Masdiaz and his wife, Iris of Tobyhanna; Jorge Masdiaz and his wife, Lisa of Jackson Township, N.J.; daughter, Joanna Betencourt and her husband, Victor of Barnegat Bay, N.J.; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Steven, Ryan, Gabriel, Adam, Amanda, Marco, Karla and Karina. There will be a viewing from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 17 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A blessing service will begin at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association National Office, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601. Cremation is entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
