Obituary of Edna Oliver

Edna May Oliver, 77, of Tobyhanna, died April, 2005 at Mercy Hospital in Scranton. She was the wife of Donald E. Oliver for over 59 years. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Mathew and Edna May (Brown) Ward. Edna lived in the Poconos for the past 10 years, after moving from Plainfield, New Jersey. Edna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone, and especially loved cooking for her family and friends. In addition to her husband, Donald, she is survived by a daughter, Carol Mortimer of Canadensis; a brother, John Ward of South Plainfield, New Jersey; three grandchildren, Lisa Mortimer of DeQuincy, Louisiana, Lori Folenta of Promised Land, Richard "Tuck" Mortimer of Canadensis; three great-grandchildren, Andrew and James Folenta of Promised Land, Charlee Mae Keaton of Louisana, a special nephew, Donald Dougert and his wife, Juanita, with whom the Olivers resided, and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Joseph Ward; and three sisters, Grace Piscatelli, Helen Cucchisi, and Betty Kochowski. The Reverend Dean Easton will conduct a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, at the Canadensis Moravian Church.
