Obituary of Thomas Collins

Thomas J. Collins, LPN,57, of Cresco and formerly of Philadelphia, passed away on Thursday, May 5 at the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Mary "Lucy" (Gill) Collins. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Blease and Mary Therese (Kennard) Collins. Thomas was a Licensed Practical Nurse in the healthcare industry. He was a member of St. Bernadette's Church in Canadensis. He especially loved gardening and barbequing. In addition to his wife, "Lucy" he is survived by two daughters, Victoria Mielke and her husband Kevin of Eagleville, PA and Michelle Blackmore and her husband Eric of Jackson, NJ; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Gill and her husband Joseph of Cresco; a brother, Michael Collins and his wife, Mary of Mobile, AL; three grandsons, Justin, Parker, and Christian Blackmore of Jackson, NJ; and many nieces and nephews. There will be viewings on Monday, May 9 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm and on Tuesday, May 10 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the Bolock Funeral Home, Rt 940 in Cresco. The Reverend Father Joseph Kopacz will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 10 at St. Bernadette's Church , Rt 390 in Canadensis. Private cremation will follow at the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Thomas' name to the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County, 502 Independence Road, East Stroudsburg, Pa. 18301
