Obituary of Helen F. McFadden
Helen F. McFadden, 86, of Scranton, passed away on Saturday, January 26 at Holy Family Residence in Scranton.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Carroll) McFadden. She was a graduate of St. Paul's High School.
Before her retirement, she was employed as an office clerk for over 16 years at the International Correspondence School in Scranton. She was one of the first residents at The Holy Family Pavilion. For over 70 years, Helen was a very active and dedicated volunteer for Holy Family and the Little Sisters of the Poor. Helen was a founding member of the Friends of Holy Family, and a member of the Legion of Mary.
She is survived by a sister, Theresa Durkin of Scranton; two brothers, Joseph McFadden of Quakertown and Paul McFadden of Trenton, NJ; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanne Charnetski.
There will be a viewing at Holy Family Residence on Monday, January 28 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Father Joseph Fanti will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 29 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.
