Obituary of Anna J. Antonewich

Anna J. Antonewich, 78, of Pocono Pines, died Thursday, June 5 at Hospice Community Care in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. She was the wife of the late John Antonewich. Born in Astoria, New York, she was the daughter of the late Adolph J. and Anna (Kuhn) Svoboda. Anna raised her family in Flushing, New York and moved to the Poconos in 2004. She was active in the Pocono Pines Seniors and the Belmont Knoll Seniors in Mt. Pocono, Pa. She is survived by a daughter, Laura Bird and her husband, Andrew of Pocono Pines; a sister, Emma Svoboda Manske of Mesa, AZ; two grandchildren, Andrew and Brian Bird of Pocono Pines; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Ronald Antonewich. The Reverend Gary Meekins of the Pocono Lake United Methodist Church will conduct a funeral service at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 9 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. There will be a viewing on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Linden Hill Cemetery in Ridgewood, New York on Tuesday, June 10 at 11:30 a.m.
