Obituary of Joseph Fritz
Joseph G. Fritz, 61, of Tobyhanna, died Saturday, June 20 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Marilyn (Parker) Fritz, to whom he was married for 25 years.
Born in Neptune, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Frank and Marion (Damon) Fritz.
Joseph was the former owner and president of the Monmouth Awning Co. in Asbury Park, New Jersey. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and the Elks Lodge in New Jersey, and a member of Pocono Farms Country Club in Tobyhanna. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, golf and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Marilyn, he is survived by a step-daughter, Kelly Howley and her husband, Shawn of Waynesville, MO; a step-son, Scott Johnston and his wife Maureen of Syracuse, NY; three grandchildren, Ryan, Shane, and Connor Howley all of Waynesville, MO; three sisters-in-law, Claire Parker of Gardner, ME, Kathryn Meaders of Cleveland, GA, Evelyn Jackson and her husband, Ned of Haslett, MI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Fritz and Joseph's beloved cat, Tiger.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, June 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg.
