Obituary of Lance Cave
Edward Lance Cave, 65, of Pocono Summit and Narberth died Friday, July 10 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Meg (Corey) Cave.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Edward Joseph and Adeline Roberta (MacDonald) Cave. Lance retired from the Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square after 39 years at the school. He was the head of the Science Department for many years and before that started the Computer Department. He was also a member of the school's alumni association and was recently honored by the school for being the gold standard as a teacher, counselor and coach.
Lance was a skilled woodworker, building furniture and garden railway cars with great detail. He was a member of the Southeastern PA Garden Railway Society and of Trinity Episcopal Church in Mt. Pocono. Lance loved spending time with his family and friends and with his students at the Academy.
In addition to his wife, Meg, he is survived by a son: Scott William Cave and his wife Cyndee of Charleston, S.C. and a daughter: Corey Leah Schamberg-Cave and her husband Benjamin of Narberth; one brother: Dr. M. Donald Cave and his wife, Donna, of Little Rock, Ark; three grandchildren: Catherine, Mae and Addie Cave and many nieces and nephews.
The Reverend Canon Virginia Rex Day will conduct a Funeral Service on Tuesday, July 14 at 4:30 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, Trinity Hill Road, Mt. Pocono. There will be a viewing from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm at the church. Interment will be Wednesday, July 15 at 11:00 am at Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill, PA.
