Obituary of Daniel Mollica
Daniel J. Mollica, Jr., 52 of Tobyhanna, Pa, formerly of Staten Island, NY, died Saturday morning, December 29 at the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County in Smithfield Township, Pa. He was the husband of Daisy Sippel.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Daniel Sr. and Cecilia (Melillo) Mollica of Mt. Pocono, Pa. Daniel graduated from New Dorp High School in Staten Island, NY. He was an avid Oakland Raiders fan and was a member of the Staten Island Touch/ Tackle League for many years. Daniel was the co-owner of Carrazza's Restaurant in Cresco, Pa. He was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a step-son: Brent Baker of Tobyhanna, Pa; two step-daughters: Kelly Baker of Tobyhanna, Pa and Jennifer Dietrich and her husband Jim of North Carolina; two brothers: John and Gerard Mollica, both of Mt. Pocono, Pa; two sisters: Dawn Regina and her husband Tom of Staten Island, NY and Laurie Hanzimanolis and her husband Tom of Mt. Pocono, Pa; two grandchildren: Kayli Baker of Tobyhanna, Pa and Brayden Dietrich of North Carolina; grandmother: Caroline Melillo of Staten Island, NY; mother-in-law: Eleanor Coad of Tobyhanna, Pa; several nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 and 390, Paradise Valley, Pa.
The Reverend Father Joseph Kopacz will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at St. Mary of the Mount Church, 27 Fairview Ave, Mt. Pocono, Pa. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg, Pa.
