Obituary of Pauline Bynum

Pauline June Bynum, 70, of Tobyhanna died Saturday, April 21 at home. She was the wife of Alfred Glen Bynum. Born in Tobyhanna, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Glendora (Strunk) Pope. Pauline was a member of the Tobyhanna United Methodist Church and was a volunteer for many civic organizations, two of which were the VA Hospital and the Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Hospital in New Hampshire. In addition to her husband, Pauline is survived by two sons: Alan Eugene Bynum of Springfield, VA and Gregory Thomas Bynum of Buena Park, CA; one daughter, Mellinee Lynn Capasso of Nashua, NH; three brothers, Claude Pope of Tobyhanna, PA, Thomas Pope of York, PA and David Pope of Pocono Summit, PA; three sisters, Arline Clark of Easton, PA, Audrey Regan of Tobyhanna, PA and Barbara Henning of Bethlehem, PA; nine grandchildren, Christopher Capasso and Alexander Capasso of Nashua, NH, Shawna Bynum of Buena Park, CA, Rachael Bynum and Hannah Bynum of Springfield, VA, David Scheidt and Darren Scheidt of Costa Mesa, CA, Daniel Scheidt of Waianae, HI; one great-grandson, Elijah Bynum of Buena Park, CA and many nieces and nephews. Pauline was predeceased by three brothers, Elwood Pope, Allen Pope and Edwin Pope; four sisters, Sylvia Evans, Mildred Shaw, Freda Hay and Lesa Fick; and a grandson, Dante Capasso. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, April 24 from 5:00 to 7:30 PM at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390, Paradise Valley. The Reverend Thomas Daniel will conduct a funeral service on Tuesday, April 24 at 8:00 PM at the Tobyhanna United Methodist Church, Main St. Tobyhanna. Graveside services will take place at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 25 at the Edgewood Cemetery in Nashua, NH.
