Obituary of Sophie Larsen

Sophie T. (Zielinski) Larsen, 83, of Gouldsboro, Pa formerly of Staten Island died Monday evening, March 10 at the Kindred Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. She was the widow of John Larsen, who died in 2001. Born in Staten Island, NY she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Bertha Zielinski. Sophie was a homemaker and a dedicated mother to her children. She loved to read and enjoyed watching the afternoon "Soap Operas". She was of the catholic faith. Sophie is survived by one son: John Larsen and his wife Maureen of Gouldsboro, Pa; one daughter: Sophie Babicky and her husband John of Staten Island, NY; one brother Frank Zielinski of Staten Island, NY; three sisters: Francis Nalwasky, Josephine Tanzosh, and Evelyn Montella, all of Staten Island, NY; six grandchildren: John, Karen and Andrew Larsen, all of Gouldsboro, Pa; Margaret Martin of Gouldsboro, Pa, Noel and Tatiana Babicky of Staten Island, NY. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters. There will be a viewing on Thursday, March 13 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 and 390, Paradise Valley, Pa. The Deacon David Bechtel will conduct a funeral service on Thursday, March 13 at 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ, where she will be laid to rest beside her loving husband.
