Obituary of Frederick Zolynas

Frederick "Freddy" W. Zolynas, 62, of East Stroudsburg, formerly of Parsippany, NJ, died Tuesday, May 31 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Irene (Joannides) Zolynas, to whom he was married for 36 years. Born in West Orange, NJ, he was the son of the late Fred and Helene (Krekel) Zolynas. Freddy graduated from West Orange High School and attended Nathaniel Hawthorne College in New Hampshire. He was employed as an expeditor for the Newark Post Office for 34 years until his retirement in February 2006. Freddy was a very hardworking man, who enjoyed hiking with his family, reading and relaxing outside. He liked to play guitar and listen to the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Freddy also wrote music and one of his greatest inspirations when writing was John Lennon. In addition to his wife, Irene, Freddy is survived by his two daughters: Jane Zolynas of Bushkill and Cindy Zolynas of East Stroudsburg; two grandchildren: Jude and Zen. There will be a funeral service on Friday, June 3 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel at Restland Memorial Park, 77 DeForest Ave. East Hanover, NJ. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park.
