Obituary of Antonia Irizarry

Antonia Irizarry, 90, of St. Mary's Villa in Elmhurst, died Monday, May 16 at VNA Hospice at Community Medical Center in Scranton Born in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Juan and Juana (Pagan) Rivera. A devoted Catholic, she attended St. Ann's Church in Tobyhanna. She is survived by a son, John Rios of Bronx, New York; a daughter, Vicky Knight of Tobyhanna; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Weidman and her husband, Matthew of Tobyhanna, Kimberly McNamara and her husband, Michael of North Middletown, New Jersey, Christine Knight of North Middletown, New Jersey, Charles E. Knight of Tobyhanna; five great-grandchildren, Amanda, James, and Brandon Wise of Tobyhanna and Tyler Michael and Evan Charles McNamara of New Jersey; and loving friends, Scott Werkheiser of Connecticut, Myrna Castro of Bronx, New York and Laura Ferrara. She was preceded in death by her loving son-in-law, Charles A. Knight and a great-grand daughter, Christielyn McNamara. The Reverend Father John Boyle will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20 at St. Ann's Church in Tobyhanna. Interment will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow. There will be a viewing from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 19 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley.
