Obituary of Pedro Nieves

Pedro J. Nieves, 43, of Tobyhanna, died Thursday, June 2 at the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Brenda (Rivera) Nieves. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of Norma I. (Velazquez) Nieves of Tannersville, and the late Cesar A. Nieves, Jr.. Pedro was employed at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics in Flanders, NJ as a computer software engineer. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by six children, Christina Nieves, Pedro Nieves Jr., Raymond Diaz, Thomas and Anthony Ray, and Jonathan Garrity; one brother, Cesar A. Nieves III, his grandmother, Lydia Nieves; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing on Sunday, June 5 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Pocono Community Church, 2770 Memorial Boulevard, Tobyhanna, Pa. 18466 Pastor Emilio Quinteros will conduct a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will take place on Monday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Prospect Cemetery.
