Obituary of Enrique C. Sanchez

Enrique C. Sanchez, 86, of Tobyhanna, died Friday, April 4 at the VNA Hospice House in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Louise (Sleam-Maitland) Sanchez to whom he was married for 59 years. Born in Manati, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Salustano and Altagracia (Castro) Sanchez. After moving to the Poconos in 1991 from New York City, Enrique then retired in 1992 as an industrial painter. He was a member and financial secretary of Local #18 International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades for many years. He was a United States Army Veteran. In addition to his wife, Louise, he is survived by five daughters, Maria Moore of Kansas City, MO, Diana Sanchez of Northampton, MA, Julia Martinez and her husband, Ralfy of Bronx, NY, Tina Sanchez and her husband, Hans Leo of Northampton, MA, Djalma Guio and her husband Chandana Jayakoti of Milan, Italy; and five grandchildren, Damien and Jermaine Joynes, Christopher and Deryk Martinez, and Isabella Sanchez Leo. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, April 8 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., followed by a Blessing Service at 8:00 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. Interment will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9 at Indiantown National Cemetery in Annville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County, 502 Independence Road, East Stroudsburg, Pa. 18301
