Obituary of Robert Kiessling

Robert J. Kiessling, 74, of Pocono Pines, passed away on December 21, 2007 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains. He was the husband of Janet (Schoote) Kiessling. Born in Bronx, New York, he was the son of Mildred (Plambeck)Kiessling of Haines City, Florida and the late Fredrick Kiessling. Before his retirement, Robert was employed for 41 years as a photographer for Con-Ed in New York City. He was a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Mt. Pocono, where he served as a Deacon who enjoyed doing the Lord's work visiting the sick and elderly. God blessed Robert's life with many special people as he served God in his vocations at home, church, work, and in the community. In addition to his wife, Janet, he is survived by a son, Gregory Kiessling and his wife, Kirsten of Islip Terrace, New York; a daughter, Lorelei Gobel and her husband Leaf, also of Islip Terrace; a brother, Gary Kiessling and his wife, Gerry of Haines City, Florida; five grandchildren, Jillian and Jonathan Jastemski, Lauren Gobel, Brandon and Jordan Kiessling; and several nieces and nephews. The Reverend Peter Richert will conduct a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 29 at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Mt. Pocono. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church.
