Obituary of John Girza

John Richard Girza, Sr., 63, of Paradise Valley, died Thursday, May 12 in Kingston, Pa. He was the husband of Linda (Canfield) Girza. Born in New York, New York, he was the son of Stella (Giza) Lucinski of Kingston. Before his illness, John was a truck driver for Gainey Trucking Co. in Michigan. He was a veteran of the United States Marines. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, John R. Girza, II and his wife, Tara of Cresco; two daughters, Roseanne Santaniello and her husband Robert W. of Tobyhanna, Janine Sopko and her husband, Trevor of Cresco; and four grandchildren, John R. III, Kassondra, Nicole, and Lauren Girza. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lucinski. Monsignor Arthur Kaschenbach will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 16 at Saint Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Mt. Pocono. Interment will follow at Keokee Chapel Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 15 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 and 390 in Paradise Valley.
