Obituary of Leopold Petrillo
Leopold "Leo" C. Petrillo, 85, of Swiftwater, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County. He was married to his loving wife Charlotte (Cleary) Petrillo for 35 years.
Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Joseph and Maria (Icarino) Petrillo.
Leo became a permanent resident in the Pocono's in 1983 and owned and operated several businesses in the area including Village Lumber and Village Carpet of Tannersville. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Leopold was also a member of Our Lady of Victory Church and its Holy Name Society and an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 12114.
In addition to his wife Charlotte, he is also survived by two daughters; Marie Talone of Bethlehem, Amanda Petrillo of Swiftwater, brother; Joseph Petrillo Jr. of Philadelphia, two sisters; Ann Trainor and Jean Conflone both of Philadelphia, and two grandchildren: Maria McDaniel and Brynn Pezzuti both of Swiftwater.
There will be a viewing on Friday, June 10 from 2-4 pm and from 7-8:30 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 390 & 940 in Cresco. The Reverend Father Richard Czachor will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 11 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Victory Church in Tannersville. Burial will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow.
