Obituary of Caroline Ciochon

Caroline T. Ciochon, 69, of Pardeesville, formerly of Mt. Pocono, died Sunday morning, Dec. 23, at St. Luke Pavilion in Hazleton, where she had been a guest. She was born in Hazleton, daughter of the late Joseph E. and Stella T. (Blasiak) Ciochon of Harleigh. Caroline worked for the late Rev. Eugene Moran at St. Raphael's Church, Harleigh, until his death. She then worked for Msgr. Arthur Kashenbach for 35 years at the parishes of St. Patrick's, White Haven, St. Ann's, Tobyhanna, and at St. Mary of the Mount, Mount Pocono, where she retired from in 2006. After retiring, she returned to the Hazleton area. She is survived by her sisters, Mercita Dietrich of McAdoo and Linda Corch of Hazleton; a sister-in-law, Ruthann Ciochon of Kissimmee, Fla.; an aunt, Helen Kubicki of Hazleton; and a longtime family friend and employer, Msgr. Arthur Kashenbach. She was also the proud aunt to three nephews whom she loved very much, Matthew Ciochon, Kenny Corch and Dale Dietrich; a great-nephew, Dale R. Dietrich; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph F. Ciochon in 2006. Monsignor Arthur Kaschenbach and Father Joseph Kopacz will con-celebrate a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12 at Saint Mary of the Mount Catholic Church, Fairview Avenue, Mt. Pocono, Pa.
