Obituary of James Posselli

James D. Posselli, 91, of Pocono Pines, died Sunday, November 9, 2008 at the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Anna (Holczli) Posselli. Born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, he was the son of the late James and Victoria (Trebare) Posselli. For most of his career, Jim was a store manager for Finast Supermarket in Woodbridge, New Jersey. After his retirement, he moved to the Poconos in 1976 and kept busy in the area doing odd jobs within the Lake Naomi Community. Deer processing and sausage making was a great source of pride for Jim. An Army veteran of five campaigns in World War II, he served with the 35th Infantry Division in Normandy, Northern France, and Central Europe and fought in the Battle of the Bulge and the Rhineland. He also served in the 1st, 3rd, and 9th Armies under Generals Bradley, Montgomery, and Patton. He was a member of the American Legion Wilson Fisher Post #413 and the V.F.W. In addition to his wife, Anna, he is survived by four children, James S. Posselli and his wife, Mary Kay of Pocono Pines, Victoria Easterling of Pocono Pines, Douglas Klemm and his wife, Vicki of Florida, and Roberta Markey of Florida; thirteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, November 11, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley, Pa. The Reverend Father John Boyle will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Pocono Pines. Burial will follow in the Pocono Lake Cemetery.
