Obituary of Marcelle Gallo

Marcelle C. Gallo, 93, of Paradise Valley, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16 at her home in Paradise Valley. She was the wife of the late Paul Gallo. Born in Liege, Belgium, she was the daughter of the late Armand Michel and Amelie (Delsa) Ferire. Marcelle met and married her husband, Paul during World War II. She moved for Belgium in 1947 and became a United States Citizen in 1952. Marcelle lived in the Cresco area most of her life and volunteered for many years at Pocono Central High School, now Monsignor McHugh. She was a member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church in Canadensis. She is survived by her daughter, Paulette Gallo of Paradise Valley and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Georges Ferire, who died during World War II defending Belgium, and a sister, Suzanne Ferire Nockin. There will be a viewing on Monday, October 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. The Reverend Fathers Edward Michelini and Thomas McLaughlin will con-celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church in Canadensis. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg.
