Obituary of Robert Daniels
Robert Charles Daniels, 41, of Swiftwater, died on Monday, June 20, 2011 in Florence, South Carolina. He was the loving husband of Noel (Sommers) Daniels to whom he had been married for 13 years.
Born in East Stroudsburg he was the son of Patricia M. (Gast) Daniels and the late Charles A. Daniels.
A graduate of Blair Academy High School in Blairstown NJ, Rob went on to earn a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology from East Stroudsburg University. Rob was an avid reader and a true seeker of knowledge who was always up to a good debate. As a strong minded republican he encouraged those around him to analyze current political issues. He used any opportunity to educate his children.
Rob along with Noel owned and operated Chestnut Grove Resort in Swiftwater. A member of the National Rifle Association and the U.S. Boat Association he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed snowmobiling, skiing, fishing, and playing paintball. He was also a past member of the U.S. Parachuters Association. Robert had a knack for fixing things and was always there to help his family and friends.
Although Rob had a short life, he lived it to the fullest. He had a charm and charisma that made his appetite for life infectious. He loved good Chinese food and found it even when in London, Paris, and Amsterdam. In the words of his daughter, "Dad was a true Chinese food connoisseur". To know Rob was to love him. His generous, happy, welcoming ways were always there. Rob was a truly devoted father and husband who loved his family above all else. He will be forever loved and missed.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is also survived by his three children, Bailey Noel Daniels, Robert Charles Daniels II, Brodie Alexander Daniels all at home; two brothers, Charles "Chuck" Daniels and his wife Carole of Canadensis, Matthew "Matt" Daniels and his wife Barbara of Canadensis; a sister, Susan Roberti and her husband Tom of Bethel ME, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, June 23 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, Rt. 940 in Cresco. In lieu of flowers donations in Robert's memory can be made to the PKD Foundation, 8330 Ward Parkway, Suite 510 Kansas City, MO 64114-2000. Cremation was entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
