Obituary of Rodney Gelb

Rodney Gelb, 40, of Tobyhanna, died unexpectedly on Friday, September 23. He was the husband of Helen (Kelly) Gelb. Born in Queens, New York, he was the son of Margaret (Murray) Gelb of Mt. Pocono and the late Lawrence Gelb. Rodney was employed as an equipment operator for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in Analomink. He was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Ann's Church in Tobyhanna. He was also a member of the Tobyhanna VFW #3448. In addition to his wife, Helen and mother, Margaret, he is survived by a son, Brendan Gelb of Tobyhanna; a daughter, Brittany Gelb, also of Tobyhanna; three brothers, Henry Gelb and his wife Dolores of Brooklyn, New York, Lawrence Gelb and his wife Ellen of Long Island, New York, Mark Gelb and his wife Mary Beth of Long Island, New York; several brothers and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews, and two dogs, Beau and Rylee. The Reverend Father Ron Hughes will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28 at St. Ann's Church in Tobyhanna. Viewings will be held on Monday, September 26 and Tuesday, September 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. Cremation will follow the mass.
