Obituary of Eileen Fluegel
Eileen E. Fluegel, 82, of Tobyhanna, died on Thursday, March 19 at the VNA Hospice at Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was the wife of the late Anthony F. Fluegel.
Born in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Layton) Maloney.
Before her retirement, Eileen was employed as a fabric cutter for Dell Sportswear in Tobyhanna for over 22 years. Eileen loved playing Bingo at Coolbaugh Fire Co. and at St. Ann's Church, where she was a member.
She is survived by five sons, Robert Fluegel of Effort, Anthony Fluegel of Tobyhanna, Kevin Fluegel and his wife, Cindy of Tobyhanna, James Fluegel of Tobyhanna, David Fluegel of Watkin's Glen, NY; a daughter, Regina Fluegel of Tobyhanna; one brother, James Maloney of Wilkes-Barre; two sisters, Jean Dare of New Port Richey, FL, Mary Farrell of Wilkes-Barre; seventeen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing on Sunday, March 22 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. The Reverend Father Richard Ghezzi will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23 at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Tobyhanna. Interment will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow.
