Obituary of Ellen Sherwood

Ellen H. Sherwood, 72, of Tobyhanna, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of Donald Sherwood. Born in Clashmore, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late John and Helena Moloney. Ellen raised her family in Bronx, NY, where she worked as a crossing guard for many years. She moved to the Poconos in 1994 and was a member of St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church. In addition to her husband, Ellen, is survived by a son Craig and his wife Kathy of Plano, Texas, a daughter Regina Melfi and her husband Anthony of Millbury Ma; four grandchildren Michael and Nicole Sherwood and Luca and Ronan Melfi; one sister Mary Tracy of Waterford County Ireland. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, September 30 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 Paradise Valley. The Reverend Father Joseph Kopacz will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1 at St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Mt. Pocono. Interment will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center ,232 East Brown Street, East Stroudsburg, Pa. 18301
