Obituary of John Morrison

John A. Morrison, 85, of Tobyhanna, died Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at Mid-Valley Hospice in Peckville. He was the husband of the late Marie (Standerwick) Morrison, who passed away in March of 2005. Born in Staten Island, New York, he was the son of the late John and Grace (Walsh) Morrison. John spent most of his childhood in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Before his retirement, John was employed as a computer analyst for the Equitable Life Insurance Company. He was a resident of Tobyhanna for 17 years and a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Tobyhanna. He is survived by a son, Paul Morrison, and his wife Tammy, of Kernersville, North Carolina; a daughter, Maureen Castrogivanni, and her husband Paul, of Commack, New York; a sister, Joan Nalwasky, of Linden, New Jersey; six grandchildren, Heather, Shane and John Morrison, and Brianna, Daniel, and Daria Castrogivanni. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Morrison. The Reverend Father Ron Hughes will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 9 at St Ann's Catholic Church in Tobyhanna. Entombment will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow. There will be a viewing on Sunday, January 8 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley.
