Obituary of Ann Shevlin
Ann Marie (Keating) Shevlin, 69, of Tobyhanna and formerly of Bethlehem, died Sunday, August 7 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. She was the wife of James J. Shevlin.
Born on June 20, 1936 in Lehigh County, she was the daughter of the late Genevieve (Conway) and Miles Keating, Jr.
After graduating from Bethlehem Catholic High School, and prior to her marriage, Ann Marie was employed as a data processor in the Sales Division of Bethlehem Steel Company. Ann Marie was actively involved in various charitable organizations throughout the Pocono Mountain Region, including the Rotary Ann's of Mount Pocono, as well as the Pocono Farms Women's Club. An avid golfer and known for her sparkling and spontaneous wit, she was a delight to her family and friends. As was with her mother, Genevieve, there was not a mean bone to be found within Ann Marie. She will be greatly missed by her devoted family and wonderful friends.
In addition to her husband, James, she is survived by a son, Patrick J. Shevlin of Hoboken, NJ; three sisters, Natalie R. Keating of Bethlehem, Geraldine K. Foote and her husband, Spencer of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jane K. Doran and her husband, Arthur of Centerbrook, CT; a brother, Miles J. Keating III and his wife, Helen, of Bethlehem; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Pethick and her husband, James of Scranton, Karen Swackhamer and her husband, Richard, of Cranford, New Jersey, and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at Holy Infancy Church, 312 East 4th Street, Bethlehem, Pa. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the charity of one's choice.
