Obituary of Irene Choray

Irene P. Choray, 77, of Tobyhanna, died Monday, March 27 at Pocono Medical Center. She was the widow of John Choray, Jr. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Sisak) Ivan. She was an active member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Church in Pocono Summit. She was also a member of St. Elias Ladies Guild, the Greek Catholic Union and the Metropolitan Choir. She is survived by a daughter, Monica Stracuzzi of Tobyhanna; three sisters, Helen Rimkus of Parlin, NJ, Anne Ujhazi of Brooklyn, NY, Elizabeth Zrelack of Queens, NY; two grandchildren, David Stracuzzi and his wife, Krista of California, and Nadine Stracuzzi of North Carolina; and great grand daughter, Willow Sophia Stracuzzi, also of California. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Kanuck and Dorothy Baltrusitis, and two brothers, John and Michael Ivan. The Reverend Father Michael Salnicky will conduct a Panachida service at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 30 at the Bolock Funeral Home, followed by a Divine Funeral Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Pocono Summit. Interment will be take place on Friday, March 31 at Calvary Cemetery in Woodside, New York. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, March 29 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley.
