Obituary of William Clancy
William F. Clancy, 88, of Pocono Lake and formerly of Colonia, NJ, died Thursday, January 19 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Maryon (Borkay) Clancy, to whom he was married for 65 years.
Born in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Francis and Katherine Clancy.
He was employed as a welder for 29 years with Security Steel in Avenel, NJ and 20 years as an Instructor in Metal & Sheetmetal Work at Rahway State Prison, Rahway, NJ and retired in 1982.
e was a member of St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church in Thornhurst. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II serving on the USS Solace, a hospital ship.
In addition to his wife Maryon, he is survived by two sons, Kenneth Clancy and his wife, Bonnie of Clarksburg, NJ, William A. Clancy and his wife, Maureen of Easton; two daughters, Patricia Clancy-Schmitt and her husband, Wayne of Colonia, NJ, Linda Henry and her husband, John of Avenel, NJ; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
The Reverend Father Anthony Urban will conduct a Blessing Service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 23 at the Bolock Funeral Home, routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. Ashes will be interred at the Laurelwood Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
