Obituary of Rose Ryan

Rose Elizabeth (Horgan) Ryan, 87, of Mountainhome, died Tuesday, April 14 at the Potomac Home in Annandale Virginia. She was the wife of Norbert R. Ryan, Sr., who died in 2007. Born in Mahanoy City, she was the daughter of the late John Roy and Helena (Lipp) Horgan. Rose was a member of St. Bernadette's Church in Canadensis and its Alter and Rosary Society. Rose is survived by four sons: Vice Admiral Norbert R. Ryan, Jr. USN (ret) of Fairfax Station, Va, Vice Admiral John R. Ryan USN (ret) of Greensboro, N.C., Dr. Michael E. Ryan of Danville, Pa, and Mr. Patrick Ryan of Springfield, Va; one daughter: Mrs. Mary Beth Pultz of Springfield, Va; one sister: Helene Hardy of Mountainhome; 13 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren. There will be a viewing on Friday, April 17 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 and 390, Paradise Valley. The Reverend Father David Cramer will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 18th at 10:00 am at St. Bernadette's Church, Route 390, Canadensis. Burial will take place on Monday, April 20 at 10:30 am at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
