Obituary of Steven Abbott

Steven H. Abbott, 54, of Pocono Summit, died Saturday, September 26 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg after a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Judith Ann (Young). Born in North Hollywood, CA, he was the son of the late John Goulding and Donna J. (Stevens) Booth. Steven worked as a carpenter. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. In addition to his wife, Steven is survived by one son, Jared of South Carolina; one daughter, Jamie of Texas; two brothers, Michael Abbott of Texas and Scott Abbott of Utah; his step-father Ron Abbott of Texas; mother in law, Joan Elie, father in law, George L. Young; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; his dog, Blossom and his cat, Smokey. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved pets, Jack, Otto, and Hattey. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, September 30 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 In Paradise Valley. Reverend John Cordes will conduct graveside services at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 1 at Stroudsburg Cemetery.
