Obituary of William Conroy
William P. Conroy, 81, of Mountainhome passed into the next world on Friday, December 19 at Pocono Medical Center.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Joan Mary (Kennedy) Conroy to whom he had been married for 59 years, 7 months and 12 days.
His beloved children are: William of Lindenhurst, New York; Julia of Canadensis, Kevin and his wife, Traci of Canadensis; Joseph of Gouldsboro and Patrick of Mountainhome.
Surviving also are his wonderful grandchildren: William and Daniel of Clearwater, Florida; Paul and his wife, Michele of London, England; Alexandra of Canadensis; Kevin, Nicole and Philip of Canadensis; Melissa of Quincy, Illinois; Joanna and Andrew of Cresco; Julia of Pittsburg and Patrick Jr. of New York City.
His precious great-grandchildren are Christianna, Caroline and Michael.
Bill served in the U. S. Navy during W.W. II and didn't see action until he got married.
Bill's career included work on F111 Planes and the Lunar Module at Grumman Aero-space, vending machines at Continental in Westbury, New York, pontoons at Edo Corporation and conveyor belts at S.I. Handling. He was a machine designer at Weiler Corporation for 17 years.
He retired on his 70th birthday-January 21, 1997 and after that his advice to everyone was, "Don't retire!"
He was a faithful member of Saint Bernadette's R.C. Church and served the Barrett Ambulance Corps for 10 years.
Bill will be greatly missed by those who love him and learned so much from him.
There will be a viewing on Monday, December 22, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. The Reverend Father David Cramer will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23 at Saint Bernadette's R.C. Church in Canadensis. Burial will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow.
