Obituary of Mary Wells

Mary Lou Wells, 72, of East Swiftwater, died Friday, November 18 at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem. She was the wife of Donald Wells. Born in Paradise Township, she was the daughter of the late Minzo and Jennie (Hoake) Simpson. She graduated from Barrett High School in 1957. Mary Lou was a school bus driver for over 20 years for the Pocono Mountain School District. She was a member of St. Pauls United Church of Christ in Swiftwater. In addition to her husband, Donald, she is survived by a daughter, Lorre L. Beehler and her husband, Andrew of East Swiftwater; three brothers, Harry Simpson of East Stroudsburg, Clifford Simpson of Tannersville, Raymond Simpson of Stroudsburg; one grandchild, Ivory Quarantello and her husband, Thomas of Marshalls Creek. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin and Clinton Simpson. The Reverend Fred Kurkowski will conduct a Memorial Service on Tuesday, November 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. Interment of ashes will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
