Obituary of Uarda Boyd
It is with tears of joy that we inform you that Uarda Ann Boyd is finally with Jesus. Uarda passed peacefully into the waiting arms of Jesus on October 9, only days away from her 77th birthday, in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was the wife of the late Wayne "Coach" Boyd. Uarda ran a great race in life, loving and sharing that love with friends and family. She was a good and faithful servant for Jesus.
Born in Donora, Pa, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Aiken) Richie. Uarda worked for Bell Telephone for several years. She also ran the Barrett Branch YMCA in the sixties and seventies creating activities for kids and adults. She worked tirelessly with churches for our Lord Jesus. The Pocono Mountain Football Mother's Club was founded by Uarda and her husband Wayne.
Uarda leaves behind the children who loved her beyond limits: Bobby Boyd of East Stroudsburg and his girlfriend Joanne, David Boyd and his wife, Christine of Lantana, Florida, Joni A. Boyd of Clermont, Florida; grandchildren, Sean and Joshua, great-granddaughter Jasmine; brother, Ronald Richie of Titusville, FL; and sister, Dorothy Stanley of Orlando, FL. She was the best mother anyone could ask for. In addition to her husband, Wayne, she was preceded in death by her brothers Raymond, Jackie, Bobby, Donnie, two sisters, Aileen Chilzer and Maryellen Block.
