Obituary of Helen Toryak

Helen Toryak, 90, of Gouldsboro, died Friday, September 4 at VNA Hospice of Lackawanna County at CMC in Scranton. She was the wife of the late John Toryak. Born in Erie, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Julianna (Boronchik) Sosnowski. Helen was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Newfoundland. Helen is survived by her nine children: Alberta Scalia of Gouldsboro, Pa, Carol Litwienski of Long Pond, Trudy Chereapon of Edison, NJ, John Toryak of Woodbridge, NJ, Joanne Ferrick of Sewaren, NJ, Sandra Dotegowski of Port Reading, NJ, Karen Toryak of Gouldsboro, Pa, Diana Reyas of Gouldsboro, Pa and Anton Toryak of Greentown, Pa; sister: Eleanor Morris of Port Reading, NJ; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Helen was preceded in death by her three sisters and two brothers. There will be viewing on Tuesday, September 8 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Route 191, Newfoundland. The Reverend Father Irudaya Raj Illuri will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at the church. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg.
