Obituary of Barbara Eherts

Barbara Jane (Spracklin) Eherts, 73, of Lake Harmony, died Wednesday, August 26 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of George Eherts. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Eleanor (Brown) Spracklin. Barbara Jane worked as a registered nurse for various nursing homes and hospitals throughout her career. She was then employed by Traveler's Insurance Co. in Garden City, Long Island. She and her husband were also the proprietors of Dogwood Lodge in Radford, VA. Barbara Jane was a member of Thornhurst United Methodist Church and of the Pocono Mountain Women's Club. In addition to her husband George, she is survived by two sons: David Eherts and his wife, Mary of New Milford, CT and Todd Eherts and his wife, Ellen of Allentown; six grandchildren: Mathew and Andrew Eherts of Allentown and Kevin, Faith, Scott and Nicholas Eherts of New Milford, CT. There will be a viewing on Sunday, August 30 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Thornhurst United Methodist Church, River Road, Thornhurst. The Reverend Ronald Onder will conduct a funeral service on Monday, August 31 at 11 am at the church. Private Cremation will follow at the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory. Interment will be private.
