Antonio James Ciafrei, 96, of Pocono Pines, went peacefully home to be with the Lord, July 8, 2011. Born on June 15, 1915 in Trenton, NJ, Tony was the son of Fredrick and Lucia Ciafrei. After Lucia's untimely death, Theresa Angelini Ciafrei became his step-mother. He graduated from Trenton High School and joined the NJ National Guard, which later became the U.S. Army. Tony served from 1940 to 1945 as Motor Sergeant in the 44th Infantry Division during WWII. He started his own business, A.J. Construction, building homes in Princeton and Lawrenceville, NJ. After building a home in the Poconos for a client, Tony never left. He designed and built many of the homes in Lake Naomi and the surrounding area. In his leisure and retirement, he enjoyed boating and fishing. He designed and built a 22 foot house boat which he and his family enjoyed for many years. Tony was well read and enjoyed doing the Pocono Record crossword every morning. He also liked gardening, cooking and woodworking. We can't forget his love of the Yankees and how happy he was visiting with his grandchildren. We love you and miss you. 'Til we meet again.
